LMIA-Based Work Permits (TFWP)
Under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), an employer must first receive an approval from the Canadian government before hiring a foreign national. This comes in the form of Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). The LMIA is a document that an employer in Canada may need to obtain from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) before hiring a foreign worker.
