Family Class Sponsorship

You can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if you’re at least 18 years old and a:​· Canadian citizen or · person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or · permanent resident of Canada

Child or Other Dependent

Children qualify as dependants if they’re under 22 years old and they don’t have a spouse or common law partner . Also Children 22 years old or older qualify as dependants if they are unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition or they have depended on their parents for financial support since before the age of 22

Parents and Grandparents

The Parents and Grandparents sponsorship program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents for Canadian permanent residence.

How can I sponsor my family?

You must meet the eligibility criteria to be able to sponsor your family members and be able to support them financially without any form of social assistance other than a disability. You cannot sponsor someone if you are a permanent resident living outside of Canada. Contact us for an assessment.

Can I sponsor my family while living abroad?

You can sponsor your family if you plan to return to Canada once your spouse or common-law partner becomes a permanent resident of Canada.

Can my family get a visitor visa while the sponsorship application is in process?

Your family member can get a temporary resident visa while the sponsorship application is in process. However, they must ensure that they meet the requirements in applying for a visitor visa
